Enlighten Theatre Workshop

ABOUT
Enlighten Theatre Workshop was founded by Amanda Bailey in 2019, after previously trading as BIG Roleplay Company, a company she co-founded in 2015. We provide professional actors and facilitators for a variety of different tailor-made workshops, seminars and opportunities, throughout a range of education and business sectors.

Amanda is an professional actor and fully-qualified teacher, with an MA in Theatre & Contemporary Practice from the University of Hull, BA (Hons) in English and Theatre Arts from the University of Exeter and a PGCE in English, Drama & Media Studies from the University of Sussex, which resulted in her teaching up to A Level for nearly 20 years, as well as mentoring trainee teachers and running several Arts Faculties in schools and colleges. She then retrained as an actor, gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Acting from The Bridge Theatre Training Company, and has since performed around the country and in the West End, with her work also being found on Audible and Amazon Prime.
Her background in teaching and performance led her to the training world, where she has written, developed and facilitated a number of workshops in both the corporate and education sectors, in particular focussing on the power of drama to develop skills in communication, conflict resolution and confidence building. She works in a number of universities delivering training to MA and BA Social Work students, using role play and forum theatre activities as tools for preparation for practice and has worked with several performance coaches to build confidence in clients using drama exercises and techniques. She has also made a series of training films for universities to use in their teaching and for continuous professional development programmes.
Amanda continues to perform and direct, running her own theatre company, HOG IN THE LIMELIGHT, and producing plays for theatres, radio and online.
